About Us

Our wish to fulfill aspirations for Indonesian traditional products, especially for those living in the USA, has led us to open Batik ‘n Craft, an Indonesian batik and souvenir store.

Located in Colorado, USA, our family-owned business was established in 2008 . We offer everything artistic exclusively from Indonesia: batik, apparels, bags, sarongs, art works, home décors, souvenirs, and much more. Many of the merchandises and collectibles in our store are handmade by Indonesian artisans from throughout the country: Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Sumba, not to mention Java and Bali. These artisans, many of which have been in the profession for generations, do not only take pride in their creations, but they also have desire to exhibit only the best Indonesian products to international markets. We offers variety of goods for contemporary living with Indonesian-style infusion.

For example, Wayang (Indonesian traditional puppet) shape is applied creatively in souvenirs for practical uses, such as key chains, book markers, and letter openers. Home decoration can also be enhanced with a touch of classic batik pattern in table clothes. This combination makes our collections not only practical for modern way of living, but also fashionable and elegant for everybody to appreciate.

Because our products come from diverse islands in Indonesia, almost every item here is unique in shape and design. We have hundreds of distinctive batik and sarong from many places in Java. Each has individuality, unequal pattern and color. Batik and sarong with both original Indonesian pattern and Indonesian/foreign influence are available in our store. The materials used for our products are also varied as they come from numerous local sources. For example, the art works and home décors are handcrafted from woods that grow in Kalimantan and Java.

Beside making it available for American market to obtain Indonesian traditional and hand-made goods, our other purpose is preserving and exposing Indonesian heritage to people around the world, especially to those in the USA. We have been actively supporting several occasions to promote Indonesian culture in the first years of our opening. We have voluntarily participated and opened booths in variety of festivals and events: International Festivals in universities and colleges, Cultural Days, Exhibition and Seminars, etc. We have also sponsored fund-raisings for non-profit organizations and foundations as well as Indonesian cultural activities in local elementary and middle schools.
